KATSINA EMIRATE COUNCIL SUSPENDS KANKARA DISTRICT HEAD FOR ALLEGEDLY HELPING BANDITS AND BANDITRY
The Katsina Emirate Council has suspended the District Head of Kankara, Alhaji Yusuf Lawal, for allegedly sponsoring bandits and banditry in the State.
In a statement issued by Iro Bindawa, the Secretary of the Katsina Emirate Council, on behalf of the Emir, dated 30th of April, 2021, Alhaji Abdulmunini Kabir Usman ordered that the District Head's suspension should take effect immediately.
Bindawa said; ”Yes, the district head has been suspended and he is currently under investigation. The outcome of the investigation will determine the next line of action to be taken by the Emirate.”
He further said the District Head was suspended following complaints from security agencies and some residents of the district about his nefarious activities.
Recall that in December, bandits invaded the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, and abducted about 344 students.
