KIDNAPPED SUPER EAGLES MIDFIELDER CHRISTIAN OBODO REGAINS FREEDOM
Former Super Eagles midfielder, Christian Obodo who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Warri, Delta State has regained freedom.
Recanting his ordeal at the hands of his abductors on Monday, November 16, Obodo said he was robbed and locked up in a car trunk for hours.
“The kidnappers were even telling me about how they lost money for placing bets on Nigeria to score in the second half". Obodo told Brilla FM.
“They didn’t hurt me or intimidate me but I can’t understand the reason for anyone to want to put me through this sort of thing over again.”
This is the second time the former Super Eagles player will be kidnapped by gunmen.
On June 9, 2012, Obodo was kidnapped on his way to church in Effurun, Warri. He was rescued the following day by the Nigerian police who traced his abductors to Isolo and arrested some suspects.
