Kwara Police Seize Illegal Firearms, Arrest Four in Stop-And-Search Operation
Operatives of the Kwara State Police Command has arrested four men and recovered a cache of illegal weapons during a routine stop-and-search operation along Sabongida Road.
The interception occurred around 8:45 a.m. on 11 December 2025 when officers from the Jebba Division stopped two suspects — Musa Mohammed and Musa Abdullahi, both from Saorami in Masegun Local Government Area of Niger State. A search of their bag led to the discovery of six locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, a pump-action gun, four live cartridges and one expended AK-47 round.
Police investigations revealed that the weapons were being transported to two individuals based in Shonga. Following this disclosure, officers arrested the alleged recipients, identified as Mohammad Umoru and Magin Isah.
The four suspects have been transferred to operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) deployed to Kwara State for further interrogation and ongoing investigation.
