Lagos Building Collapse Claims Three Lives, Injures Six

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed the deaths of a teenager and two adult males following a building collapse at Northern Vulture Estate, Chevron Drive, on Wednesday.

According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, at least six people sustained serious injuries in the incident.

“A 15-year-old boy and two adult males were recovered, confirmed dead, and subsequently bagged by emergency responders,” the statement read. “The bodies were handed over to SEHMU officials, while six survivors received medical attention.”

LASEMA further stated that the collapsed structure, a two-storey building under construction, was completely demolished and reduced to ground level after the search and rescue operations were concluded.

The exact cause of the collapse remains unknown, pending further investigation.

Earlier reports had indicated that one person was confirmed dead while four others were injured. However, the latest update brings the death toll to three.
