LAGOS MAY SUSPEND LOCKDOWN RELAXATION BEFORE FRIDAY

The Lagos state government may suspend the lockdown relaxation directives before Friday to stop the rapid spread of the Coronavirus in the state.

This is in view of the non-adherence to Social distancing guidelines by Lagos residents as seen in the chaos characterizing the first 2 days of the relaxation.

Photos of uncontrolled crowds trooping into banks without their masks are of grave concern.

Part of the reason is that many Lagosians are not e-banking compliant, and great numbers are not using the ATM.

The banks are also not operating at full capacity.

This explains the large numbers trooping to banks to withdraw or deposit.

The Banks daily withdrawal limit is also preventing many to make cash closure of deals beyond 200k. Especially those going to market to purchase goods

The Lagos State is observing and speaking with stakeholders on ways to improve service so that the queues and pressures will be reduced.

Transporters were also seen disregarding the rules of social distancing given by state government, many were seen carrying over-load.

The use of sanitizers and nose masks were ignored, and this may spell doom for the state.

A source close to the government told Eons Intelligence that the lockdown might be reinforced after Wednesday if the situation does not improve.

.

It is advised that while banks are made to open more branches to customers, they should also increase the daily withdrawal limits.

Transporters Union members should be penalized for negligence and inefficiency while mandating them to compel members to observe the protocol.
