LAGOS POLICE COMMAND RELOCATE CHECKPOINTS TO AID FREE MOVEMENT OF ESSENTIAL WORKERS

The Lagos state police command has relocated some checkpoints to aid free movements of commuters, especially essential workers.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Bala Elkana, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, May 6.

According to him, the Commissioner of Police and other senior police officers visited different checkpoints on Monday, May 4 to monitor compliance with the curfew order.

However, the team noticed that some essential service workers were trapped in the traffic caused by checks carried out by police officers who were ensuring that no unauthorised people came into the state.

Therefore, some checkpoints were moved to new locations that are close to U-turns so that vehicles that are not essential duties can quickly turn back and pave the way for essential service workers to move freely.
