MAN JAILED IN SOUTH KOREA FOR 4 MONTHS FOR BREAKING QUARANTINE RULES
A South Korean man has been jailed for four months for breaking quarantine rules.
This is South Korea's first such prison sentence.
The jailed man, 27, was arrested after breaking quarantine rules twice.
He first left his residence while under 14-day self-isolation and the South Korean authorities caught up with him after visiting five clubs and bars in Seoul.
He was then moved to a quarantine facility, where he was caught escaping the premises.
The man was "convicted of violating the Infectious Diseases Control and Prevention Act", and was given four months jail term.
In the early days of the Coronavirus Outbreak, South Korea was the second worst-hit nation after China.
The country's economy has been reopened after two months of lockdown, and life is returning to normal as thousands of South Korean students have gone back to school.
South Korea has recorded 11,225 cases of Coronavirus, 10,213 recoveries, and 266 deaths.
