NAF Air Strikes Foil Terrorist Attack on Rann, Neutralise Insurgents

Operatives of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has thwarted a planned terrorist assault on troops stationed in Rann, Borno State, through a swift and coordinated air operation.

Acting on credible intelligence, the OPHK Air Component executed Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions in the early hours of Friday, establishing contact with ground forces and locating clusters of fleeing insurgents. The terrorists were subsequently engaged with precision-guided munitions, resulting in the neutralisation of several fighters.

According to NAF sources, the prompt intervention not only disrupted the attack but also restored calm to the area. The operation highlights the Air Force’s sustained commitment to delivering close air support, safeguarding frontline troops, and responding rapidly to emerging threats in the North-East.

Security analysts note that the continued integration of ISR and Air Interdiction (AI) missions has been instrumental in maintaining operational superiority over insurgent elements in the region.
