ISWAP TERRORISTS ATTACK MILITARY FACILITY, BOMB COMMUNITIES IN BORNO
Terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP), carried out multiple attacks at various locations in Borno State on Saturday morning.
The 1000 Housing Estate in Maiduguri, and the Airport Community town called Gomari were both attacked with gunfire and rocket propelled weapons respectively. Gomari is less than four kilometer drive away from the Airport.
Local sources said they woke up to the sounds of gunfire and explosions on Satirday morning.
Five Mortal bombs were said to have been used in the attack. The bombs completely destroyed some houses while shaking others to their foundations.
There are also videos circulating online, showing scenes of burning houses and people gathered in groups, discussing the attacks.
Eons intelligence could not verify casualty claims at the time of filing this report. However, a Military source said Soldiers from the 33 Artillery Brigade, stationed at Njimtelo, engaged the terrorists in gun battle at the location.
