NAF Conducts Intensive Rappellers Recurrency Training in Kaduna

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has completed an intensive Rappellers Recurrency Training for Regiment Special Operators at the Regiment Training Centre, Kaduna, aimed at boosting operational efficiency in line with the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar’s commitment to “deliberate training and mission-oriented force development.”

The programme was designed to sharpen the skills of operatives in insertion and air assault operations, strengthening their capability to support surface forces in neutralising terrorists and bandits. Training activities included rappelling drills, aircraft operations, range exercises, tactical live shooting, and range classification to improve firing accuracy. It concluded with a tactical assault simulation covering urban combat and hostage rescue operations.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, Air Vice Marshal AA Shinkafi, commended the CAS for prioritising capacity building. He noted that the training not only enhances the proficiency of NAF’s special operators but also reinforces the Service’s commitment to national security.

AVM Shinkafi praised the Commandant of the Regiment Training Centre, Air Commodore CO Olayera, along with his officers, airmen, and airwomen, for the seamless conduct of the programme and assured them of the CAS’s continued support for regiment training activities.
