NAF Airstrikes Neutralize Terrorists, Destroy Gun Trucks in Timbuktu Triangle
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), has carried out precision airstrikes on a terrorist hideout north of Chiralia, within the notorious Timbuktu Triangle. The strikes, conducted over the weekend, resulted in the neutralization of multiple terrorists and the destruction of three gun trucks, dealing a major blow to insurgent activities in the region.
The operation was launched following intelligence reports from ground troops tracking three terrorist gun trucks moving from Sabon Gari toward Chiralia. In response, NAF deployed fighter jets for an Air Interdiction (AI) mission. Upon arrival at the target location, pilots identified the insurgents and their vehicles concealed under trees.
With precise firepower, NAF aircraft engaged the targets, launching rockets and cannon fire that obliterated two of the gun trucks. As the terrorists attempted to reposition the third vehicle, a follow-up strike was executed, destroying it completely. The overwhelming assault left all three vehicles ablaze, while several fleeing insurgents were neutralized.
This latest operation highlights the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to disrupting terrorist networks, limiting their mobility, and providing crucial air support to ground forces. The NAF has reaffirmed its dedication to sustained counterterrorism efforts, ensuring that insurgents find no refuge and enhancing security across the North-East.
