NAFIL Launches First Virtual Reality Gaming Centre to Enhance Welfare and Innovation

The Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited (NAFIL) has commissioned its first Virtual Reality Gaming Centre, marking a major step in boosting personnel welfare and fostering innovation within the Force. The facility, located at the NAFIL Arcade in Abuja, was unveiled on 7 August 2025 and is designed to promote recreation, creativity, and digital engagement.

Speaking at the commissioning, National President of the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association, Arch. Dr. Rakiya Abubakar, described the centre as “a vibrant hub for innovation, creativity, community, and entertainment,” envisioning it as a place where friendships are formed, dreams are inspired, and talents are nurtured.

Managing Director of NAFIL, Air Commodore Idris Suleiman, explained that the centre extends beyond entertainment, serving as a platform for training, education, and business diversification. He noted that the initiative aligns with the Chief of the Air Staff’s philosophy of maintaining a motivated force through improved welfare and infrastructure renewal.

From casual gamers to aspiring e-sports competitors, the facility is expected to create job opportunities, strengthen civil–military relations, and inspire creativity. As the first of its kind within the Nigerian Air Force, the Virtual Reality Arcade positions NAFIL as a trailblazer in integrating modern leisure culture into military life, boosting morale and innovation across the Force.
