NCC SHUTS DOWN ALL TELECOM SITES IN 13 LGAs IN KATSINA STATE

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has directed Telecommunications providers to shut down services in 13 LGAs in Katsina State.

This comes a few days after the National Communications Commission (NCC) denied plans to shut down telecom sites in Katsina.

The affected LGAs are Sabuwa, Faskari, Dandume, Batsari, Danmusa, Kankara, Jibia, Safana, Dutsin-Ma and Kurfi that are on the fringes of the Ruggu forest where most of the bandits are hibernating. The other three LGAs include; Funtua, Bakori and Malumfashi.

Recall that the NCC had refuted a trending social media story claiming that the commission had ordered telecom service providers to shut down their sites in Katsina.

Eons Intelligence had reported on September 3 that the NCC had issued a directive to telecom operators to shut down their services in neighboring Zamfara State to enable security operatives to combat the menace of bandits and other criminals in the State.
