NIGERIA SETS TO BEGIN EVACUATION OF CITIZENS ABROAD
The Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, May 4 has confirmed evacuation flights for her citizens from the United States, United Kingdom, and United Arab Emirates, others which commences this week.
This was disclosed in a tweet by the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
Earlier, Some Nigerians stranded abroad have asked to be brought back home as COVID-19 outbreak bites harder across the world. Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked all its missions abroad to compile a list of willing Nigerians who want to come back home.
Erewa said, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, evacuation will be in batches. There are over 3000 applications from about not fewer than 75 countries. She hereby urges, Nigerians abroad to get updates from the Nigerian missions in counties where they are and follow protocols to abide by.
