Ahead of the Ogun State Local Government election, Lanre Oyegbola, an enlightened marketing communications practitioner, of the renowned Shodipo Dynasty has registered his intention to run for the chairmanship of the Abeokuta North under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Speaking on his proposed agenda, Oyegbola said he would bring real transformations to the constituency, which include, the upgrade of existing infrastructure and provision of additional ones, qualitative education, excellent healthcare, economic growth and job creation, improved security, and better welfare for the people of the Local Government Area.

According to him, the local council needs a visionary servant- leader who is ready to represent the aspirations of the people and communities, someone who will not place his political ambition of the people’s interest, one with a clear vision for the future of the local government and its people, a man who brings real-life experience from business and community roles.

“I personify these aspirations and positive changes that the people are yearning for, and this is why I am offering myself as a servant of my people.”

Oyegbola a committed democrat and progressive politicians promised the people of the local council that he will place them first before anything and listen to their concerns, explore innovative solutions to problems faced by the people of the area.

He added that he would work towards the progress, prosperity and overall development of the people and communities.

In his words “I commit to promoting the good of our people through a real transformation in our wards, towns and villages. I pledge to preserve the dignity of every Abeokuta North LGA native. I promise to make the people a priority and the focus of my administration.”

Speaking further, Oyegbola reiterated that, with his knowledge of marketing, he would ensure that private investors establish in the Local Government Area, which will mitigate unemployment, especially amongst the youths.

The APC chieftain started out as a research executive with Saatchi & Saatchi affiliates in Nigeria and progressed on to man the strategy and account planning department of JWT and FCB affiliates in Nigeria which has provided him with the platform to access tools to develop world-class brands.

Aside from that, he has also worked as the Executive Director at Verdant Zeal, where he had the opportunity to develop a tool “Open Brand Probe” a systematic and creative model of brand development and strategic decisions.

Moving forward, Oyegbola, a Master’s Degree holder in Marketing from the University of Liverpool, UK, set up Boomerang Havas Africa, which ranked among 100 agencies in the world in 2019, according to ventures Africa.
