NIGERIAN EVACUEES ARRIVE LAGOS FROM THE UK
Nigerians stranded in the UK following the global travel restrictions caused by the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic have arrived in Lagos.
The returning Nigerians landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 13:45 on Friday, May 8 in a British aeroplane.
The Evacuees will be moved to Abuja where they will be quarantined for 14 days, following NCDC guidelines.
Recall that the first set of Nigerians, 256 of them arrived the country from UAE on Wednesday on an Emirates flight.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that over 4000 Nigerians are waiting to evacuated around the world.
The Ministry said that it had made hotel reservations for lodging and quarantining of evacuees in Lagos and Abuja. It said that the hotels had been inspected by the Port Health Services, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCDC, and others.
