NIGERIAN SOLDIERS ARREST CRIMINAL SYNDICATE RESPONSIBLE FOR ATTACKS ON SECURITY PERSONNEL IN THE SOUTH-EAST, AMMUNITION RECOVERED

The Nigerian Army has arrested a criminal syndicate allegedly responsible for the series of recent attacks on residents and security personnel in the South East.


The troops also nabbed the mastermind of the terrorist group, Tochukwu Okeke popularly called Owo, in Enugu.


The soldiers raided their camps at Akpawfu-Amangwunze in Nkanu West Local Government Area where several arms, ammunition, cars, and charms were recovered.


It was gathered that the criminal syndicate, described as “merciless and brutal’’, was well-structured and heavily armed with sophisticated weapons which it uses in attacking security agents in the States. Sources disclose that they were notorious for stealing firearms and ammunition from the security personnel they attacked,


The group was had attacked police and military facilities within Enugu including Adani Police Division, a Military Checkpoint along Adani- Omoh road, Ezeagu Police Division, military Checkpoint along Orji River-Udi road, military checkpoint along Enugu Abakaliki Road, and a host of others.
