13 Brigade Addresses Viral Video of Alleged Soldier Assault in Calabar
The Headquarters of 13 Brigade, Nigerian Army, has reacted to a viral TikTok video showing a soldier allegedly assaulting a civilian in front of Eburutu Barracks, Calabar, on Wednesday, September 18, 2025.
In a statement, the Brigade expressed deep regret over the incident, describing the conduct as “unacceptable and contrary to professional ethics and rules of engagement.”
Preliminary investigations have identified the soldier involved, who is now in custody as a formal inquiry is underway to determine the circumstances and ensure appropriate disciplinary action in line with military law.
The Army assured the public of a transparent investigation, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all citizens. Residents of Cross River State were urged to remain calm and continue supporting security efforts to maintain peace and safety in the state.
