OGUN STATE GOVERNMNENT AVERTS FUEL TANKER EXPLOSION IN OKE-ARO

The Ogun State Government, on Friday, October 9, 2020, said it has averted a potential fuel tanker explosion along the Adiyan-Alausa, Oke-Aro, Ifo Local Government.


Hon. Fola Salami, Chairman, Transition Committee, Ifo Local Government, who made this disclosure in a statement on Friday, said he mobilized men of the Ogun State Fire Service to the scene after receiving distress calls from residents of the area.


Salami revealed that the 33,000 litre tanker was spilling its content when men of the fire service arrived at the scene of the incident.


Sources say the accident was caused due to several ditches along the road when the tanker was moving up-hill.


The Chairman of the Transition Committee, Ifo Local Government, urged residents to remain calm as work has commenced to restore normalcy along that axis.


He also advised them to make use of other alternative routes in the area while commuting.
