ONDO 2020: GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES SIGN PEACE PACT
17 candidates participating in the gubernatorial election in Ondo slated for October 10, 2020, have signed a pact to ensure a violence-free election and accept the outcome of the polls.
Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate; Eyitayo Jegede, flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, Zenith Labour Party’s (ZLP) candidate, and fourteen other candidates signed the peace pact organized by the National Peace Committee.
The signing was witnessed by National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Yakubu Mahmood; Sultan of Sokoto, Abukabar Saa’d; Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Hassan Kukah; former Bishop of Abuja Diocese John Onaiyekan and other traditional rulers.
