ONE OF THE COVID-19 PATIENTS WHO FLED AFTER GETTING HIS RESULT IN OYO STATE HAS BEEN FOUND

One of the two confirmed COVID-19 patients who fled before being admitted to an isolation centre in Oyo State has been found.

 

This was disclosed in a tweet by the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday, May 6.

 

Earlier, The Governor, during his COVID-19 update announced that two confirmed COVID-19 patients ran away, saying they probably left the state.

 

The Governor, later in the evening on Wednesday gave the update that one of the absconded cases had been found after intensive contact tracing and has been admitted to the Infectious Disease Centre in Olodo, Oyo State.

 

In the same vein, he said the other case is a 10-year-old boy who eyewitnesses claim boarded a north-bound vehicle, and his details have been sent to the Sokoto State PHEOC.

 

He said contact tracing is still ongoing to avert community spread of the disease.

 

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday, May 6, Oyo state has recorded 52 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13 recoveries.
