PANIC AS HACKER CLAIMS TO HAVE STOLEN DATA OF OVER 2000 ACCESS BANK CUSTOMERS
Access bank customers on Tuesday were thrown into panic following a video of a confessed hacker showing what he claimed are data of over 2,000 customers of the bank.
The hacker claimed he was able to gain access into the data base of the bank because of its vulnerable security system.
In the video, the hacker could be heard saying he would soon begin deducting money from the accounts as he had extracted enough data to enable him to do so, including customer names, BVN, account number, among other things.
Responding to the viral video, Access bank has assured its customers that the money in their accounts are safe as there has been no security breach.
Access Bank on Tuesday told customers to follow security protocols by not divulging sensitive financial information to anyone.
In the statement released, the bank said they have contacted the law enforcement authorities and urged customers to ignore the video.
DID THE HACKER SHOOT HIMSELF IN THE FOOT?
The video captured the laptop screen of the alleged hacker which read the name, Ihebuzo Chris.
A Facebook search of the name revealed that Ihebuzo is a software web developer proficient in Python. He lives in Benin but comes from Owerri, Imo State. He is also a member of Facebook Developer Circle.
Many on social media wonder why an alleged hacker would leave so much paper trail behind.
