PANIC IN PLATEAU COMMUNITY AS VILLAGERS FLEE OVER WITHDRAWAL OF SOLDIERS

Following the withdrawal of soldiers stationed in Pinau village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, residents of the area are fleeing their homes for fear of attack by terrorists.

Report indicates that the soldiers were stationed in the community in August last year when terrorists attacked some villages on market day with many persons reportedly killed.

Terrorists recently issued a Quit Notice to several Wase communities, in addition to the banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling already occurring in Wase.

Moments after the evacuation of the soldiers on Saturday morning, many locals started fleeing for fear that the bandits could use the opportunity of the absence of security to storm the community.
