PDP Schedules Anambra Governorship Primary for April 5

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced April 5 as the date for its governorship primary ahead of the November 8 general elections in Anambra State.

The party’s state chairman, Mr. Chidi Chidebe, disclosed this in a timetable released to newsmen in Awka on Tuesday.

Key Dates in the Timetable:

  • March 20 – 21: Congress to elect three-man ad hoc delegates at the ward level.
  • March 27: Local Government Area delegates election.
  • June 2: Deadline for withdrawal and substitution of candidates.

Nomination and Expression of Interest Fees:

  • Three-man ad hoc delegate form: N50,000
  • National delegate form: N150,000
  • Expression of Interest form: N5 million
  • Governorship nomination form: N35 million

Chidebe noted that female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) are exempted from paying for nomination forms, in line with the party’s constitution.

"Youths below 40 years are required to purchase the Expression of Interest form but will receive a 50% discount on the nomination form," he added.
