POLICE ARREST SUSPECTS OVER LYNCHING NAVAL OFFICER IN ONDO STATE
The operatives of Ondo State Police Command have arrested about six suspects over the lynching of a naval officer identified as M. Akingbohun, on 26th June, 2023 by mobs in Idoani, Ose LGA, Ondo State.
The information available indicates that the officer attached to the Navy Secondary School in Imeri, Ido-Ani, was gruesomely beaten with sticks and iron rods following an altercation that arose from a minor motorcycle-pedestrian accident.
The victim was taken to General Hospital, Idoani, where he was confirmed dead.
Meanwhile, as of Tuesday, 27th June 2023, youths fled the town in fear of a reprisal attack from naval officers.
