KADUNA GOVERNMENT WARNS THEY COULD RECORD 57000 CASES.
The COVID-19 taskforce in kaduna has expressed concerns over the ongoing pandemic and warns that there could be about 57,000 cases in the state if there is no effective implementation of the lockdown order.
This is following the aftermath of the sixth confirmed COVID-19 case in the State involving a male patient who returned from Lagos State to kaduna with a commercial vehicle after he tested positive for the virus.
The state government has gone on to impose the lockdown especially to stop inter State travels till further notice as part of measures to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
The Kaduna State commissioner for internal security and Home affairs, Samuel Aruwan said that it is imperative for people to observe the lockdown as it is for their own safety.
Security agencies have therefore been directed to turn back any unauthorized vehicles into the state.
Vehicles without approvals have been intercepted and stopped along Kachia Road and Sabine Tasha area, with some commercial drivers abandoning their vehicles and fleeing to escape arrest.
