POLICE APREHEND 13 SUSPECTS ALLEGEDLY BEHIND THE ABDUCTION OF BENUE STATE COMMISSIONER

Operatives of Benue State Police Command has arrested 13 suspects alleged to have been involved in the abduction of the Commissioner for Housing/Urban Development, Ekpe Ogbu, and others in Benue South senatorial district.


A total number of five people were abducted within the senatorial district in December, including the Catholic Priest, the Commissioner, his driver, an aide and one other.


However, the Police team (Men of Operation Zenda JTF) were deployed tactically to the southern part of the state to trail the kidnap alliances grouping in the area which resulted in the arrest of 12 people that are in connection with the case of kidnap that happened on December 4, 2022, involving the Commissioner for Housing/ Urban Development, Hon. Anthony Ogbu.


Meanwhile, on their way to purchase guns for the group, the specialist in charge of preparing local protection for the kidnappers identified as Mohammed Omachoko, and other identified as; David Ejembi, Aondongu Akighir AKA “Too Proud” and Teryima Peter were also arrested.


The operatives also arrested other nine members of the gang with two locally made Baretta pistols loaded with 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition confiscated from them.
