POLICE ARREST 2,726 SUSPECTS IN HIGH-PROFILE CRIMINAL CASES, RECOVER 150 FIREARMS, 1788 AMMUNITION, RESCUE 207 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN ONE MONTH
In a display of unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety, the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD. NPM., today paraded several suspects apprehended for different heinous criminal acts.
This decisive action underscores the Police Force's relentless efforts to combat crime and bring perpetrators to justice. The suspects, who have confessed to various offences ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping, were presented to the media and the general public, sending a clear message that criminal activities will not be tolerated.
One of the significant cases is that of Hauwa Yusuf, a 30-year-old female from Dutsin-Ma LGA of Katsina State. She was intercepted while in transit from Lafia, Nasarawa State to Katsina State, inside a Sienna Bus along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. Upon interception, a search was conducted, and one AK-47 rifle without a breach number and four AK magazines concealed inside a white sack of garri were recovered from the suspect. During the interrogation, Yusuf confessed that she was delivering the weapons at the behest of a notorious bandit terrorizing Katsina State.
