POLICE ARRESTS THREE HERDSMEN FOR ATTACKING OGUN COMMUNITY
The Ogun State Police command has arrested three herdsmen for arson and attempted murder.
The herdsmen, who were arrested on February 18, attacked Bamajo village in Ayetoro area of Ogun State, setting some houses ablaze and inflicting a machete cut injury on a man identified as Ismaila Alabi in the process.
Upon receiving the distress call that the herdsmen were attacking the village, the Area commander of Ayetoro, ACP Anthony Aruna, deployed security operatives to the scene where they arrested a certain Musa Yusuf.
The suspect was apprehended with a gun and a blood stained cutlass. Yusuf's arrest led to the arrest of two other herdsmen identified as Usman Mohammed and Aliyu Abubakar who are strongly believed to be part of those who launched the violence attack
The State's Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, who said the injured victim is receiving treatment at the hospital, ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department for further investigation.
Ajogun directed that a search should immediately begin to arrest the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice.
