POLICE RE-ARRESTS FOUR INMATES WHO ESCAPED FROM PRISON DURING THE #ENDSARS PROTEST IN EDO

The Nigerian police force has re-arrested four prisoners who escaped from the Oko Prison during the #EndSARS protests in Edo State.


Recall, on October 19, Eons Intelligence reported that armed hoodlums invaded the correctional facility in Oko and freed several inmates.


This was made known in a statement on Monday, November 30, by the Nigerian Police Force PRO, Frank Mba.


Mba identified the escaped prisoners as; Adebayo Opeyemi, Oloride Benjamin, Peter Osas, Hudu Musa and Frank Odion.

The Police PRO said the fleeing inmates were jailed for armed robbery, car theft, unlawful possession of weapons, illegal dealing and selling of weapons.


He stated that Adebayo Opeyemi is a dismissed soldier, Benjamin Oloride was convicted and sentenced to death, and Mr Musa Hudu had nine months remaining to serve from his prison term.


Mba revealed that the convicts have snatched a total of four vehicles since their escape, adding that Benjamin Oloride snatched a vehicle 30mins after he escaped because he needed to leave Benin City.
