POLICE RECOVER 109 COWS, 74 SHEEP FROM RUSTLERS IN BAUCHI

Bauchi Police recovered 109 cows and 74 sheep rustlers during recent operations in the state.


The North Eastern State has been confronted with numerous security challenges such as Kidnapping, Armed Banditry, Cattle Rustling, thuggery, Rape and other manifestation of violent crimes.


Locations such as: Lame Burra forest in Ningi L.G.A, Balmo forest in Gajuwa L.G.A, Yuda and Mundu, Panshanu and Megemu forest in Toro L.G.A and Yankari Games Reserve in Alkaleri L.G.A has been providing a cover for criminal elements who perpetrate heinous crimes.


Recently there have been proactive measures taken by the Commissioner of Police CP Abiodun S. Alabi through robust synergy with Government and other security agencies, Vigilante groups, Religious/Traditional institution, youths and other stakeholders which has made the state enjoying relative peace.


However, the Arrest of criminal elements before, during and after commission of offences has been recorded by the Command.

The Command within the last 6 months from 8th March 2021 to date recorded over two hundred and twenty-one (221) cases, and arrested over three hundred and fifty-two (352) suspects in connection to various crimes committed within and outside the State.


This is a summary of major achievements recorded: The command has recorded over forty-two (42) cases of Armed Robbery; one hundred and fifteen (115) suspects were arrested in connection with the cases. Eighteen (18) cases of Kidnapping, twenty-nine (29) suspects were arrested in connection with the cases. Fifteen (15) Kidnapped victims were rescued from the Kidnappers.

Fifty-nine (59) cases of Rape, sixty-nine (69) suspects were arrested in connection with the cases. Thirty-five (35) cases of Culpable Homicide, sixty-six (66) suspects were arrested in connection with the cases.


Seven (7) cases of Attempt to Commit Homicide, five (5) suspects were arrested in connection with the cases. Thirty-five (35) cases of Theft, Forty-nine (49) suspects were arrested in connection with the cases. Twenty-five (25) cases of other offences, nineteen (19) suspects were arrested in connection with the cases.

Subsequently Lethal weapons were mopped-up from unlicensed individuals as crime preventive measures; eighty-eight (88) firearms and Six thousand four hundred and sixty (6,460) ammunition were recovered.


RECOVERED MOPPED-UP FIREARMS: Twenty-five (25) AK-47 rifle,One (1) Locally made SMG, One (1) SMG, One Locally made Fabricated AK47,One (1) English Barretta and One Magazine, Two P/Barretta, Twenty nine (29) Rusted/unserviceable locally made P/catridges, Twenty even (27) Rusted/unserviceable locally made revolver and One Locally made Dane Gun


RECOVERED MOPPED-UP AMMUNITION: Eight hundred and seventy-four (874) 7.6mm, Five thousand and twenty two (5022) 5.56mm, One hundred and thirteen (113) 9X19mm, Two hundred and seventy-four (274) 62.7mm, One hundred and seventy seven (177) 38mm, Eighty-seven Blank


RECOVERED ARMS: Five (5) Dane Gun, Three(3) Locally made single Barrel Gun, Three (3) Locally made revolver pistol, Six (6) Locally made pistol


RECOVERED AMMUNITION: Fourteen (14) rounds of live Cartridges

Sixty-seven (67) rounds of live ammunition

Thirty-three (33) pellets used as bullets.

One (1) Golf salon motor-vehicle

One Toyota Corolla Motor-vehicle


RECOVERED MOTORCYCLE


Nineteen (19) different Motorcycles


DOMESTIC ANIMALS RECOVERED FROM CATTLE RUSTLERS: One-hundred and nine (109) Cows, Seventy-four (74) sheep


MONETARY EXHIBITS RECOVERED: Nine-hundred and seven thousand Seven hundred and sixty naira(N 907,760.00), Eleven thousand five hundred seifer (11500).


OTHER OFFENSIVE WEAPONS RECOVERED: One hundred and seventeen (117) Cutlasses, Seven (07) sticks, Six (6) machetes and Eight (8) knives


OTHER STOLEN/RECOVERED PROPERTY: Forty (40) mobile phones of different models, Four (4) plasma TV sets and Three (3) Laptops


The Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command CP Abiodun S. Alabi commended the Bauchi State Government, member of the forth estate realm, other sister security agencies, judiciary, members of PCRC, Special Constabularies, Hunters association, vigilante group, other relevant stakeholders like Danga security and the entire good people of the State for their cooperation, support, encouragement as well as prayers.


Moreover, the command says they will not relent on its oars, as we will continue to put in measures to weed out unscrupulous elements in order to achieve a crime-free State.
