RIVERS STATE TENSIONS RISE AS PRO-WIKE SUPPORTERS CLASH WITH PRO-FUBARA COUNCIL CHAIRMEN
Tensions escalated in Rivers State today as supporters of former Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike clashed with loyalists of incumbent Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
This morning, Pro-Wike supporters reportedly prevented the Council Chairman loyal to Governor Fubara from entering the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Secretariat.
In a similar incident, youths in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area blocked Pro-Gov. Fubara Council Chairmen from accessing the Secretariat.
Meanwhile, in a related incident, a fire outbreak occurred at the Eleme Local Government Secretariat, further heightening tensions in the state.
