SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS INFLICT INJURY ON POLICE DPO IN ABEOKUTA

Secondary school students in Abeokuta have injured the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Obantoko Division, Alimeke Ignatius.

It was gathered that the security operative was stoned in the head after a bloody clash had ensued between students of Egba Comprehensive High School and Asero High School in Asero, both in Abeokuta.

Sources say the rampaging students, who hauled stones and other sharp objects at each other, blocked the main road, causing tension amongst residents in the community.

Security operatives attached to the Obantoko police division swung to the scene to restore normalcy when the DPO was attacked by the students.

The DPO sustained a grievous injury on his head and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
