SEVEN HEALTH WORKERS TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 IN RIVERS

Seven Health workers managing COVID-19 cases in Rivers State have tested positive for the virus.

The Association of Resident Doctors in the State made this known on Wednesday, June 11, in Port Harcourt, the State Capital.

The Association pleaded that Governor Nyesom Wike should fulfil his promise of increasing the hazard allowances of the frontline workers.

According to the Association, Governor Wike had promised to increase the hazard allowances for the frontline workers by 50 per cent of their basic salaries.

Dr Josephine Sokolo, the Chairman of the Association, Rivers State Teaching Hospital lamented over the risks health workers are exposed to in a bid to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the State.
