SOLDIERS RAID BOKO HARAM/ISWAP HIDEOUT IN BORNO AND YOBE, KILL EIGHT TERRORISTS AND RECOVER SEVERAL AMMUNITION

The Nigerian Army on Monday, January 25, killed eight Boko Haram terrorists in separate encounters in Yobe and Borno States, and also recovered several arms and ammunition in the process.


On Monday, around 1pm, the gallant troops of 233 Bn located at Babangida engaged several Boko Haram terrorists at Chindila village in Yobe State. During the encounter, the troops killed five of them, recovered some of their ammunition, while some escaped into a forest with gunshot wounds.


Some of the ammunition recovered include; 3 AK 47 Rifles, quantity 5 Magazines, and 17 Rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.


In a separate encounter with Boko Haram criminals at Mayankari in Borno State, at about 4pm, troops of 151 Bn, 202 Bn and elements of Multinational Joint Task Force on patrol made contact with the assailants and killed three of them while others fled into bush.


They recovered some arms and ammunition from the criminals such as 3 AK 47 Rifles, 1 solar panel and 1 Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

After the encounter, the troops destroyed their hideout and went in search of the fleeing assailants.


Last week Friday, Eons Intelligence reported that the Nigerian Army destroyed a Boko Haram/ISWAP enclave in Borno, killing five and recovering several ammunition in the process.


Also, on 18th January 2021, several Boko Haram insurgents were killed as troops of Operation Lafiya Dole engaged them in Frigi village, Borno.


Similarly on 16th January, 2021 the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) killed several Boko Haram terrorists in Marte, Borno State, and also destroyed seven gun trucks in the process.
