SUSPECTED HERDSMEN MACHETE THREE FARMERS IN EKITI

Eons Intelligence has gathered that assailants suspected to be herdsmen macheted three farmers in Irele-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

This comes less than one month after two farmers were gruesomely butchered by herdsmen in Isaba-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

It was learnt that the assailants, numbering about six invaded the farm settlement in the early hours of Tuesday and macheted the three farmers, who are females.

The herdsmen were said to be infuriated when the women declined their financial requests and attempts to molest them.

The refusal of the women to grant their demands led to their brutal attack. This led to the herders macheting them and inflicting severe injuries on them.

Abutu said: “Yes, we got the report this morning that three persons were attacked and I can tell you that they are responding to treatment in the hospital.

“We have commenced investigation into the attack and the criminals will soon be arrested.”

He admonished residents of the community to be vigilant and provide security operatives with adequate information that would assist in arresting the assailants.
