THREE TOGOLESE APPREHENDED FOR SNEAKING INTO NIGERIA AFTER ALLEGEDLY BRIBING SECURITY OFFICIALS

Three Togolese Nationals has been arrested at Iseyin town in Oyo State after allegedly bribing their way into Nigeria despite the coronavirus lockdown. 


Reports from a source who prefers to go anonymous disclosed that the trio entered through Saki town. Contradicting this, the Nigeria Immigration Service in Oyo said the trio came in through Ilesha Baruda, a border town in Kwara State. 


Earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the immediate closure of borders to curb the spread of Coronavirus. 


The trio identified as Commando Kwasi, Eberivie Isiaq, and Kemi Terivie arrived Iseyin on Tuesday and were arrested at Odo - Omu area of Iseyin on Wednesday. 



The Nigeria Immigration Service in Saki was accused of having collected N2,000 each from the penetrators to let them in.

It was gathered that some of the residents alerted the security agencies and drew the attention of the Iseyin local government authority.


The source noted that this led to the arrest of the trio on Wednesday.
