Troops Intensify Offensive, Neutralise Terrorists, Disrupt Logistics Networks Across North-East

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded major operational successes in sustained counter-terrorism operations between March 31 and April 4, 2026, neutralising insurgents, arresting suspects, and dismantling key logistics networks across the region.

In Yobe State, troops under Sector 2, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), engaged terrorist logistics suppliers near Geidam following credible intelligence. Three insurgents were neutralised, while a vehicle conveying supplies was disabled. Items recovered included food supplies, mobile phones, and other materials intended for terrorist camps.

Along the Konduga–Kawuri axis in Borno State, troops ambushed terrorists attempting to plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), killing two insurgents during the engagement. Weapons and ammunition were recovered, while another IED discovered along the Ngoshe–Pulka road was safely detonated, preventing potential casualties.

In Adamawa State, troops under Sector 4, supported by local hunters, conducted operations in Mubi North Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of three Boko Haram/ISWAP members. One of the suspects reportedly confessed to gathering intelligence on troop movements and participating in recent attacks. The suspects are currently in custody.

Further operations in Mainok market led to the arrest of three suspected logistics suppliers, with the recovery of livestock, mobile phones, and cash. In a separate operation in Yobe State, troops intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorists, including two individuals with gunshot wounds linked to previous encounters with security forces.

Additional arrests were made across the theatre, including suspected informants, collaborators attempting to move across borders, and a foreign national apprehended under suspicious circumstances at a checkpoint.

Military authorities stated that troops have maintained sustained offensive pressure across the operational area, effectively restricting terrorist movement. The High Command commended personnel for their professionalism and resilience, urging continued momentum in operations aimed at restoring security and stability in the North-East region.
