Troops Raid Criminal Hideout in Plateau, Recover Rifle and Equipment
Troops under the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace have raided a suspected gunrunner’s hideout in Plateau State, recovering arms and communication equipment during the operation.
The raid, conducted on 3 December 2025 by Sector 2 (Sub-Sector 3) personnel stationed in Gashish, followed actionable intelligence pointing to illicit arms activities in Ranbiri Village, Kafi Abu, within Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
Although the suspected gunrunner escaped before the soldiers arrived, a detailed search of the site led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine, and other communication devices. The items have been secured by the troops as investigations continue.
Military authorities say efforts are underway to locate and arrest the fleeing suspect. They also reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling criminal supply networks and ensuring the safety of residents across the operational zone.
