TWO KILLED AS FULANI-YORUBA CLASH IN OYO

Two persons lost their lives during a fight between Fulani and Yoruba at the Aba Abugudu Market in the Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State.


The fight which occurred on Monday, also left two members of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun and a vigilante injured.


Confirming the incident to newsmen,  Col. Olayinka Olayanju, the Commandant of Amotekun Corps in Oyo State said his men were attacked and injured while trying to break the fight.


“One of the Fulani men was said to have attacked our men with a cutlass on the head, he attacked the other one on his hand. Those attacked were rushed to hospital, but those fighting still continued with their fight," the Amotekun Commandant said.

The Oyo state police who also confirmed the incident said investigations have commenced to unravel the cause of the conflict while the injured victims are responding to treatment at the hospital.
