UK VARSITY APPOINTS NIGERIAN PROFESSOR AS VICE-CHANCELLOR
Leeds Trinity University, United Kingdom, has appointed Charles Egbu, a Nigerian Professor, as its Vice-Chancellor.
This was announced via a statement on the university website.
The institution said Egbu would replace Margaret A House, the outdoing VC who held the office for seven years.
Egbu expressed excitement over the appointment while promising to consolidate on the institution’s long history.
He said; “I am honoured to be joining Leeds Trinity; a University whose values and ethos around widening participation, offering a personalised approach and encouraging all students to achieve their best, align with my own.”
The Anambra-born professor is set to resume on November 1st, 2020.
It is pertinent to note that Egbu’s move to Leeds would see him return to where he studied and taught for years.
Egbu’s appointment further widens his impressive record in the academics where he has over 25 years experience serving in various capacities including as Pro Chancellor for Education at the University of East London.
The Professor has written 12 books and has published 350 international journals with focus on project management, construction management and sustainable development.
Jamie Hanley, Chairman, Board of Governors, Leeds Trinity University said; “Professor Egbu brings with him a wealth of experience and extensive knowledge of the higher education sector.”
