WE WILL NOT RECONCILE WITH BANDITS - CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has said the Nigerian Army will not reconcile with bandits.
Addressing newsmen in Zamfara today, the COAS said the Army would face all bandits squarely and kill them if they failed to surrender.
Buratai said; “We will make sure that we fight against banditry and other forms of criminal activities in all parts of the country but no reconciliation, as such I am calling on the bandits and other criminals to surrender and embrace peace.”
Buratai also debunked claims that the Army has failed in the fight against insurgency.
He revealed that a number of both Boko Haram insurgents and the bandits have been neutralized by the Army in the last few months.
Buratai lauded the military for their unflinching and unwavering efforts in the fight against insurgency, calling on Nigerians to support them in order to achieve the desired objective
