NO COVID-19 PALLIATIVES IN OUR ORIENTATION CAMPS – NYSC
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has told those searching for COVID-19 palliatives that there are none in its 37 orientation camps nationwide.
Eons Intelligence earlier reported that the NYSC orientation camp in the Kubwa area of Abuja was looted by hoodlums looking for COVID-19 palliatives, on Tuesday, October 27.
However, security operatives have arrested some of the looters who broke into the NYSC office.

In a statement issued on Tuesday evening by the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, said there were no palliatives in the camps.
Adeyemi said, “The spate of attacks on NYSC formations in search of palliatives, particularly the orientation camps have become very worrisome.
“Management wishes to restate that there are no palliatives in any of the 37 NYSC camps nationwide.
“It is imperative to note that the National Youth Service Corps is a national institution saddled with the core mandate of promoting national unity and integration, as well as youth development and empowerment. The mandate does not include warehousing and distribution of palliatives.
“The Director-General National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim is making an earnest appeal for the cessation of further attacks on facilities of the Institution.”
In the last one week, there have been series of violence and looting across the country, following the #EndSARS protest.
On Monday, October 26, a mob attacked a warehouse at Gwagwalada area council, Abuja, about 9:00 am, Eons Intelligence reports.
Bags of grains, including rice and cartons of noodles and spaghetti were looted from the warehouse said to be owned by the agricultural and rural development secretariat of the FCT administration.
