TROOPS KILLED BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN AIR OPERATION AT DAPCHI, YOBE STATE

Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole killed an unconfirmed number of Boko Haram and the Islamic States West African Province (ISWAP) Terrorists in an air attack launched on Monday, May 18, 2020, at Dapchi, Yobe State. 


John Enenche, the Coordinator of Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.


He said the Air Task Force of Operation Lafiya Dole, killed an unconfirmed number of Boko Haram Terrorists and destroyed 2 of their gun trucks on the outskirts of Dapchi Town in Yobe State. 



According to Enenche, the air operation was conducted following reports that Boko Haram/ISWAP Terrorists, in about 5 vehicles, had launched an attack on the Town. 


Immediately, a Helicopter Gunship was mobilised to engage the terrorists. 


Two of the vehicles containing the terrorists were destroyed, and terrorists in them were killed. 


The Chief of the Air Staff commended the Air Task Force for their professionalism and urged the soldier to remain resolute towards eradicating terrorists from the North East.
