FIVE KIDNAPPED BORNO STATE WORKERS RELEASED

Five Borno State Government workers kidnapped by the Boko Haram/ISWAP have been released. 


Reports say the abducted workers were released after an undisclosed ransom was paid. 


The Borno State workers, all male, were abducted on September 11 along the Maiduguri-Monguno road. They were on their way to build shelters for IDPs in Damasak. 


Report says their abductors claimed to be linked to an ISIS-affiliated ISWAP faction.


Meanwhile, security reports indicate that Boko Haram/ISWAP Insurgents are planning to ambush travellers en route Monguno and Baga on Sunday, October 4.

 

Sources say Boko Haram/ISWAP Insurgents with about six vehicles were on spotted stopping and harassing vehicles along the Maiduru Monguno road on Saturday, October 3. 

 

They were said to be searching vehicles for state workers, military personnel, NGO workers and other non-Muslim targets using the road to travel.
