NIGERIA MILITARY LOCATES GUNMEN WHO KIDNAPPED SCHOOLCHILDREN IN KATSINA, BATTLE ONGOING
The Nigeria Military has located the gunmen who may have kidnapped an unspecified number of school children in Katsina.
A statement from the presidency revealed that Nigeria security forces have begun exchanging fire.
The Chief of Army Staff, General Buratai, briefs the President on the bandits’ attack on the GSSS Kankara; the military, supported by air power has located the bandits’ enclave at Zango/Paula forest in Kankara and there have been exchange of fire in an ongoing operation.
Reports say the combined forces of Airforce, Army, and vigilantes trooped out to the forests around Kankara town to rescue the school children.
On Friday night, gunmen attacked the Government Science Secondary School Kankara in Katsina State and abducted an unspecified number of students.
The abduction took place hours after President Muhammadu Buhari arrived in Katsina for a private visit.
