OUTRAGE AS SUG OF OFFA POLYTECHNIC PRESENTS MERIT AWARDS TO CULT GROUPS

The Student Union Government (SUG) of Federal Polytechnic Offa (FEDOFFA) has come under heavy backlash for allegedly presenting merit awards to various cult groups in the institution.

Photos of award plaques with various categories of awards assigned to three different cult groups for different achievements surfaced online, drawing heavy criticism.

One of the awards was for the cult group “Alora” as the finest group on campus, another group “Eye” was awarded the most influential and rugged student on campus, while the third award was presented to “Aye” as the freedom fighters on campus for 2019/2020 session.

Sources, however, revealed that the act was nothing new in the institution as cult groups are highly influential especially during union elections.

The photos, which have seen gone viral, once again brings to fore the menace of cultism in public universities.
