SOUTHERN KADUNA KILLINGS: SPECIAL FORCES ARRIVE REGION
As the Nigeria Government intensifies efforts to curb the ongoing killings in the southern Kaduna, Special Forces have been sent to the troubled region.
The Special Forces which were approved by the Defence Headquarters are aimed to halt the senseless killings and restore peace in the southern Kaduna.
The Forces arrived Kafanchan on Friday, August 14, ahead of their deployment to the various flashpoints in the area later today.
Report says the Special Forces drawn from the Nigerian Army were received at Sector 7, the headquarters of Operation Safe Haven, by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

While addressing the troops, the Commissioner urged them to dedicate themselves to bringing an end to banditry in the southern Kaduna.
He also thanked the Defence headquarters for approving the deployment of the troops to Southern Kaduna. He assured that the State Government would support the fight against banditry in the region.
Aruwan also called on non-state actors, especially residents of the affected communities to give their maximum support to the troops during the period of the operation through intelligence sharing mechanism.

Recall that Kaduna has been experiencing a series of attacks, which has led to the loss of innocent lives.
On July 19, 21 people were killed while 28 others sustained various degrees of injuries when the gunmen attacked Kukum Daji Village of Kaura Local Government Area of the State.
According to the President of the Community, Yashen Titus, the gunmen invaded the venue of a wedding party in the community at about 10 pm and opened fire on the attendees, Eons Intelligence reports.
