GUNMEN ATTACK KADUNA COMMUNITY, KILL 10
At least ten persons have been killed in Ungwar Wakili after suspected herdsmen attacked a community in Zango Kataf, local government area of Kaduna state.
Following the attack, the Kaduna State government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in four communities of the Zango-Kataf Local Government.
The Special Assistant (Media) to the executive chairman, Zangon Kataf Local Government Council, Yabo Chris Ephraim, in a statement said the curfew aimed at ensuring calm and normalcy in the communities. The communities affected by the curfew include Ungwan Juju, Mabuhu, Ungwan Wakili, and Zango Urban.
The information available indicates that the tragic incident started in the earlier hours of Saturday afternoon when a disagreement ensued between security operatives and a Fulani man at a checkpoint in Ungwan Wakili which led to a Fulani man and a policeman being shot at the checkpoint.
Consequently, some suspected Fulani terrorists later that evening retaliated by attacking some youths who went fishing and macheted one to death.
