KOGI BANK ROBBERY ATTACK: GOV. BELLO RELEASES FUNDS TO BURY VICTIMS, TO REBUILD POLICE STATION

The Kogi State government has released N10 million to bury the victims of last week’s armed robbery attack that left at least 10 persons dead. 

Governor Bello also promised to rebuild the police station that the robbers invaded. 


The Deputy Governor of the State, Edward David Onoja disclosed this on Twitter on Monday morning.  

“His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has released the sum of 10 million naira to support the burial rites of the slain victims of the unfortunate Isanlu robbery attack which claimed about ten (10) lives,” he tweeted. 


“Plans has been concluded to bring the Isabel Police Station to standard, this would help rebuild the confidence of the Police for proper policing of the community,” he added.

Meanwhile The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has ordered a full-scale manhunt for the perpetrators of the Thursday, June 4, attack on Isanlu Police station and commercial bank in Yagba East LGA of Kogi State.

 

The Police has deployed a team of crack detectives from the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), the Special Tactical Squad (STS) and Federal-SARS to the State to ensure that the criminals are apprehended.

According to reports, the robbers first went to the police station, disarmed and killed the officers and civilians present before proceeding to the only commercial bank in the town. 

 

At least 10 people, including the DPO, lost their lives in the attack.
